Who is Karlos Barreiro ?

Born in Havana in 1967 and originally trained as a civil engineer, Barreiro transitioned into the art scene in the 1990s—as a gallery promoter in Havana, Chicago, Boston, and Miami—before fully embracing his calling as a painter in 2001 and a photographer in 2006 .

His artistry fuses bold abstraction with cultural and pop‑art influences, showcased in powerful acrylic works like I Am My Own Muse—which juxtaposes icons such as Frida Kahlo and Campbell’s Soup on oversized canvases or acrylic panels (42″×54″) . With over 2,000 pieces sold internationally—including more than 200 in the U.S.—Mexico, and Europe, and with collectors like Andrea Bocelli, Kirk Douglas, Gina Lollobrigida, and William Van Gogh (director of the Van Gogh Museum), his reputation is global .
